The City of Madison Heights seeks volunteers for an Ad-hoc Charter Amendment Committee. At the November 28, 2022, City Council Meeting, the Madison Heights City Council empaneled a Charter Amendment Committee to review and update the specific sections of the City’s Charter. A City’s Charter is a document that defines the organization, its powers, functions, and essential procedures.
The Charter Amendment Committee will likely meet twice a month for a term of approximately 3 months to review and update the City’s Charter. This review will include specific sections of topics designated by the City Council.
Charter Amendment Committee members serve without compensation, must be a registered voter, and a resident of the City of Madison Heights. Anyone with an interest in serving may obtain an application for appointment by visiting the City’s website Madison-Heights.org or clicking on the link below. The City Clerk’s Office must receive applications on or before the close of business on Thursday, January 13, 2023. Applicants should note special skills or experience in creating or interrupting legal verbiage.
