Food Scraps

Drop off your Food Scraps TODAY!

The City of Madison Heights is partnering with MyGreenMichigan to provide food scrap composting to our residents. This pilot program consists of a single drop-off location at the Department of Public Services. When you arrive, turn right and follow the Food Scraps sign.

Compostables include plant, fruit, and vegetable trimmings, dairy products, eggshells, bread and grains, grease, meat and bones, coffee grounds, filters, and teabags, and unbleached (brown) paper and napkins. All material collected is diverted from landfill, and turned into rich, useful compost.
